Anteprima Nobile di Montepulciano 2011

Also very difficult to give any value judgments on anteprimah wines, they are still too young for such "long-playing" wines as Brunello and Nobile, almost children, so in most cases, it was just very curious to anticipate their possible future development potential.


On anteprime Nobile wines were presented in 2009 Rosso di Montepulciano, Nobile di Montepulciano 2008 and Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2007 (although many farms were brought to the exhibition as their supertoskantsev, white, pink, grappa and Vin Santo). It was well, very much Cask samples, in accordance with the rules of production, before Nobile they go on sale must be conditioned for at least two years starting from 1st of January following the harvest of the year. 2008 harvest estimates have heard very mixed. On 5-point scale Consortium estimates it 4 stars (2007y received all 5). The year 2008 was quite difficult in terms of climatic conditions: the average annual temperatures were below normal, pretty cool winters, and abundant rainfall in late May and early June slowed the flowering phase and ovaries, and increased risk of parasitic diseases of vines. Nevertheless, since the second mid-June, rebounded good weather and high temperatures and lack of rain allowed vegetative cycle to restore the normal course of development. Optimum level of maturity grapes, and therefore the time of harvest came in the last week of September - the first week of October. Producers say that the wines of this vintage differs greatly freshness, subtlety and elegance, and bright fruit and floral aromas (but some shortages of color). At the same time, vintage hot 2007 are more powerful, intense and concentrated, character, dense structure, the aroma of ripe red fruits, and demonstrate excellent potential for exposure.
Just anteprime Nobile di Montepulciano 2011 was attended by 34 wineries (the Consortium Nobile them has more than 70).
